The Centre for Data Science & AI is delighted to announce an exciting three-day celebration, bringing together vibrant research and creative practice across the fields of data science and artificial intelligence. With a blend of interactive workshops, stimulating talks, creative performances, installations, and provocative debates, the festival invites us to explore where we are—and where we could go next.

The Data and AI Festival considers the current state of research in data science and AI across the University, where research can develop from here, and how the Centre support that development.

The Data and AI Festival will showcase current and future research happening at the University, but will also invite discussion, debate and provocation whilst providing space for developing potential new research collaborations.

Who is the target audience?

The festival is intended to be for everyone - those who are already working with AI and data science, those who are interested in working with Data Science and AI and those who are skeptical about these evolving fields and how they embed into a higher education context. We encourage you to apply to engage with data science and AI in creative ways!

Interested in taking part in Data and AI Festival?

We warmly welcome proposals from everyone—whether you're actively involved in AI and data science, exploring their potential, or even skeptical about their impact on academia and society. Our aim is not just to showcase current research, but to spark meaningful dialogue, debate, and new collaborations that shape the future direction of our work.

Why should I take part?

This is a unique and valuable opportunity to share your work with a wider audience, build interdisciplinary collaborations, and contribute to a growing community committed to responsible innovation. The festival provides a dynamic platform to showcase research, exchange ideas with experts from different sectors, and explore real-world applications of data and AI. By participating, you can help shape conversations around emerging technologies while forging new connections that can lead to future partnerships and impact.

Types of activities you can apply for:

  • Tabletop display
  • Data Science and AI images exhibition
  • Propose your own creative idea: workshop, interactive panel discussion, performance, installation - we welcome your creativity!
