U21 Global Citizenship

Applications for U21 Global Citizens will open on 26 January 2026

U21 Global Citizens is an online programme running over three weeks for students across our global network. You will become part of a global online cohort, completing independent activities designed to further your understanding of – and set actions to advance – the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

How it works?

Global Citizenship is open to 2,000 students across the U21 global network of 28 universities, spanning 20 countries and 20 time zones.

Participants will develop ideas together, across borders and time zones, honing skills needed to thrive in the 21st century whilst tackling some of the world’s most pressing problems, outlined in the United Nation Sustainability Goals (UNSDG).

Each week requires a minimum of 3 hours of online learning that you can complete in your own time. In addition during weeks 1 and 2 there are real-time, online reflection workshops, where you will draw on the learning from that week and engage in discussions with other students from across the globe.

Successful completion of the programme and all activities will earn you the Global Citizenship micro-credential which you can display on your LinkedIn profile, demonstrating that you have developed the skills to tackle complex global issues and stand up as a leader.

How to get involved?

The opportunity is open to any registered student at the University (UG or PG).

The three-week programme launches will take place between 9-27 March 2026.
