Partner with the University of Glasgow on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP)
Drive Innovation. Transform Your Organisation.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) are a UK-wide programme that helps businesses and organisations innovate, grow, and achieve long-term impact by working with world-leading academics.
Through a KTP with the University of Glasgow’s College of Social Sciences, you’ll gain direct access to cutting-edge research and expertise, to tackle your businesses most pressing challenges.
Why Partner with Us?
- Solve Real Challenges – Work with social science experts to design solutions that address your organisation’s priorities, from digital transformation and leadership to data-driven decision-making, sustainability, and social impact.
- Access Funding – Projects are part-funded by UKRI Innovate UK (50%-75% is available) and other funding bodies, making KTPs a cost-effective way to invest in innovation.
- Gain Talent and Expertise – A dedicated KTP Associate (a talented graduate or post-graduate) is recruited to work within your organisation, supported by an academic team from Glasgow.
- Achieve Measurable Impact – KTPs deliver proven business outcomes: increased productivity, stronger competitive advantage, new services and products, and improved organisational resilience.
What Does a KTP Involve?
- Partnership – A three-way collaboration between your organisation, the University, and a KTP Associate.
- Timescale – Projects typically last between 12 months and 3 years.
- Funding Model – The cost is shared: UKRI funds up to two-thirds of the project (more for smaller businesses, up to 75% for charities).
- Support – Our KTP team guides you from proposal to delivery, ensuring the partnership delivers value.
The Pro-Active Minds Project, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Glasgow Caledonian University and Sport Aberdeen, backed by the Wood Foundation, and supported by the University of Glasgow, shows the impact these collaborations can have. By connecting academic expertise with community need, the project is supporting young people in Aberdeen to tackle mental health challenges through sport.
